Love is timeless…and the rules don’t always apply to love.
A few weeks ago a customer contacted me and was over the moon. She had just got engaged a few days before and she wanted me to make her engagement ring. What an honor. There was one catch….she was getting married in 10 days in Hawaii. 10 days.
Now a few things went through my mind. Like…OMG. Impossible. Are you kidding? No way! How?
And then of course…I said yes. I knew how I fretted over my own ring. My own wedding. How I wanted everything to be perfect…How could I not at least give it a go? I couldn’t let her get married without a ring. Not on my watch.
I had been to the great Tucson show a few months ago in search of unique & wonderful stones. On my trip I found a 1 ct. heart shaped champagne diamond.
I had already gone wayyy over my budget on that trip and I had no business buying this diamond. None. I already had bought a bunch of diamonds and the coffers were full.
In fact I did not buy it. But I came back the next day and looked at it again. It was amazing. I had no plans for it…it was completely frivolous to buy this thing. It was very expensive. It was a gorgeous champagne color with a hint of pink. Very rare to find this. In fact I had never seen one like this before. I should not buy it. No way was I buying this thing. So I did.
Well. Sometimes things happens for a reason. I believe this diamond jumped out and found it’s way to me, talked me into buying it because it knew its way home was going to be through me.
And so…after several discussions, a few late nights and several prototypes later…and some divine intervention…we made this ring happen.
I hope that my client has the wedding of her dreams to the man of her dreams tomorrow.
XOXO
