spread a little cheer*

We have gone from our little store by the sea to our little store in the heart of Music City…Nashville, Tennessee. It is our first Christmas here and the spirit of the south continues to warm our hearts. Our little elves worked hard making our new store inviting for all the holiday shoppers….and I would say they did an outstanding job.

Although we miss all of our friends in Huntington Beach who have called, emailed and were so used to shopping at our store during Christmas…we have made lots of new friends along the way.  All of our friends across the country can continue to shop shop at our online store and still get their Island Cowgirl fix on any old time.

Life is a journey. It never stops moving forward. It is in the nature of all things to evolve and to change. Trying to keep something frozen in time rarely works.

People ask me all the time “Why Nashville?”.  I truly do not have a good answer for that. I had only been here once years and years ago.

And only for a day. When my baby pink 1972 VW Bug broke down eight times on a cross country trip from LA to NY…the final time in Jackson, TN. It was two days before Christmas and my best friend and I abandoned the car at the bus terminal. My dad agreed to drive all the way back to Tennessee from NY…fix the car…with the caveat that we stop at the Grand ‘ole Opry on the way home. That pretty much summed up my one and only visit to Nashville.

But something was drawing me here….like a faint tune of a song that you never heard before but are sure that you have. A bit of deja vu…perhaps. So we up and moved here on nothing but the intuition that has served me well all of my life…and a wing and prayer. Pretty much how I have conducted my entire existence up until this point in time.

So here we are closing out a whirlwind year and soon to ring in a new one. I and I feel like we are going to spin a lovely life here in Nashville, TN. Or maybe we already have.

About Island Cowgirl Jewelry

Write something about myself? hmm..I am scared of fish dead or alive. I make a mean margarita. I make jewelry and am obsessed with horses. I break at the bend. I believe life is too short for TV. I believe that dogs really do smile. And I believe that without hope all magic is lost. So there.
