postcards from the glacier*

…usually we do postcards from the farm…well technically this is still the farm…just buried under two inches of ice…
We had an epic ice storm in Nashville this week…we had between 1-2″ of solid ice covering pretty much everything…the driveway, the horses paddock & our whole pasture. Not snow with ice. Solid, break it with an ice pick if you are lucky…ice.
Now, growing up in upstate NY, I was no stranger to snow…Snow I can do.
But ice is a whole other story…

By the way…ice and horses do not mix.
So we shoveled what amounted to about 20,000 lbs of solid ice out of one of the paddocks so that we could rotate the horses out of their stalls…So glad we did as it is now 5 days later with sub zero temps the ice had no chance of melting…
The natives are getting restless…and we are hoping for warmer temps tomorrow.

About Island Cowgirl Jewelry

Write something about myself? hmm..I am scared of fish dead or alive. I make a mean margarita. I make jewelry and am obsessed with horses. I break at the bend. I believe life is too short for TV. I believe that dogs really do smile. And I believe that without hope all magic is lost. So there.
